The frame sits upon an equally ornate cast pedestal base with three broad decorative feet, creating a distinctly Rococo and Victorian Revival appearance.

The metal is non-magnetic and shows warm golden tones where the darkened surface has naturally worn, consistent with cast brass or a similar copper alloy. Its wonderfully aged patina has been retained rather than polished away, giving the piece considerable character.

Stylistically, the mirror is consistent with European—and particularly Italian—decorative dressing mirrors produced during the mid-20th century, although no maker’s mark or country-of-origin mark has been identified.
