A scarce survivor from one of the more unusual chapters of Australian Buck Rogers merchandising.

This figure depicts Twiki, the memorable robot companion from the television series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. It is attributed to the scarce Croner Toys Australian range produced around 1979, which included Buck Rogers, Tiger Man and the much smaller Twiki.

Standing approximately 9 cm tall, Twiki features a silver-painted body, distinctive helmeted head, claw-like hands, circular Dr. Theopolis chest detail and simple articulation at the shoulders and waist.

The Australian Croner range is considerably less commonly encountered than the familiar Mego Buck Rogers figures, making surviving examples particularly interesting to vintage science-fiction and Australian toy collectors.

Condition: Vintage used condition with significant age-related wear – please refer to the detailed description and photographs below.

This is an approximately 45-year-old vintage figure displaying substantial evidence of age, play and material deterioration.

* Original silver-painted finish shows considerable rubbing, flaking and paint loss throughout.

* Areas of the dark/black underlying material are exposed where the silver finish has been lost.

* Some exposed dark areas have developed a tacky/sticky surface, consistent with age-related deterioration of the vintage material.

* Additional scratches, marks, discolouration and general surface wear are present.

* Circular chest detail remains present but shows significant paint/detail loss.

* Both shoulders and the waist remain articulated.

* Arms and legs appear complete.

* No manufacturer’s lettering or markings have been located.

* No attempt has been made to repaint, restore or otherwise cosmetically improve the figure.
