Mini Story or Hook
One of the defining novels of the First World War, All Quiet on the Western Front follows young German soldier Paul Bäumer and his comrades through the brutal reality of life on the Western Front.
First published in Germany in January 1929, Remarque’s novel became an extraordinary international success almost immediately. This G. P. Putnam’s Sons copy dates from that remarkable first year of publication, with the printing history recording the phenomenal demand for the English edition — 260,000 copies by September 1929.
An evocative period copy of one of the most important anti-war novels of the twentieth century.
