Mini Story

A beautiful late Victorian chromolithograph after Ludwig Passini’s celebrated 19th-century painting My Little Model, published in The Art Journal in 1889.

Passini was known for his sensitive genre works and studio scenes, and this portrait captures the romantic academic realism so admired in the late 1800s. The piece has remained in its original period gilt timber frame and retains early glass with subtle waviness and air inclusions — adding to its authentic Victorian character.

The rear has been sympathetically re-backed with acid-free foam board and brown kraft paper to protect the print while retaining its original construction and materials.

A wonderful decorative antique with genuine 19th-century presence.
