Mini Story or Hook

An evocative 1977 original oil painting by Australian artist Brenda Collier, capturing a quiet rural scene of an old homestead surrounded by towering gum trees.

Collier uses loose, expressive brushwork and areas of pronounced impasto to build the landscape, with the textured trees and foreground giving the work considerable depth and character. The subdued earthy palette and isolated homestead are particularly evocative of Australian landscape painting of the period.

The work is clearly signed and dated “Brenda Collier ’77” at the lower left and remains presented in its attractive period frame.

Brenda Collier is a documented Australian artist whose work is recorded by Australian art-market databases including the Australian Art Sales Digest (AASD) and Art Record.

This is an appealing opportunity to acquire an original signed Australian artwork from the 1970s rather than a reproduction or decorative print.
