Finished in rich shades of olive green, cream and brown with delicate hand-painted floral decoration, this substantial cache pot features a graceful scalloped rim and pedestal foot. Originally designed to hold a potted fern or flowering plant, it now makes a stunning decorative statement piece for a period home, cottage, Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts interior.

The base carries the impressed G&S Albany & Harvey Potteries Ltd, Longton, England mark together with pattern number 597, dating the piece to the early 20th century.
