Mini Story or Hook

An iconic piece of Danish Modern glass, the Gulvvase was designed by Otto Brauer in 1962 and became one of the most recognisable forms produced by Kastrup-Holmegaard.

Its beautifully balanced bottle form—with a rounded body, elongated cylindrical neck and broad flared rim—was produced in a series of graduated sizes and bold Scandinavian colours. Standing approximately 51 cm tall, this is the impressive largest size from the range, commonly described as the 52 cm or 20.5-inch model.

The intense cobalt-blue glass and monumental proportions make this a particularly striking example for collectors of Holmegaard, Scandinavian art glass and mid-century design.

This is a genuine vintage Kastrup-Holmegaard art-glass vase.

* Presents beautifully, with a rich and highly reflective cobalt-blue colour.

* No obvious chips, cracks or repairs were identified during inspection. Surface scratch to one side as shown in photos

* Light surface marks and signs of age, handling and display may be present.

* Small bubbles and minor irregularities within the glass are consistent with its hand-blown manufacture.

* The underside shows expected shelf wear and surface marking.

* Hand-inscribed markings or initials are visible underneath. These are documented but have not been relied upon as the sole basis for attribution.

* The wooden stand shown in the photographs is for display purposes and is not included.
