Mini Story or Hook
A striking and substantial piece of vintage art glass, this impressive vase stands approximately 35 cm tall and combines an almost-black body with vivid green decoration and shimmering metallic inclusions.
The decoration really comes alive under direct light, revealing sweeping green leaf and feather-like forms together with a fine sparkling effect throughout the glass. Its tall baluster body rises into an elongated neck finished with a wonderfully sculptural, free-form ruffled rim.
The irregularities, bubbles and individually worked rim give the piece considerable handmade character. Its combination of dark glass, green decoration and metallic sparkle has a distinctly Murano / Venetian-inspired appearance; however, as the vase is unsigned and retains no identifiable maker’s label, we are not attributing it to Murano or any particular glasshouse.
A dramatic statement piece with excellent scale and presence, ideal for an art-glass collection or as a centrepiece in a mid-century, retro or contemporary interior.

This is a substantial vintage art glass vase which presents very well overall.
* Rich glossy dark glass with striking green and shimmering metallic decoration.
* Sculptural ruffled rim presents well and appears intact.
* Small bubbles and inclusions are visible within the glass, consistent with its hand-worked character.
* There is one small glass imperfection to the side of the body associated with a bubble/inclusion. This area is open at the surface and is sharp to the touch. It is clearly shown in the close-up photograph. We cannot determine whether this occurred during manufacture or subsequently.
* No cracks or major chips observed.
* Minor surface and base wear consistent with age and previous display.
* No maker’s signature or original factory label has been identified.
The small sharp imperfection has been specifically photographed so prospective buyers can assess its nature and condition before purchasing.
