A 1900s edition of Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore. Believed to be the first edition in this form. Illustrated by Gordon Browne including black and white and colour plates.
This copy was awarded to a Lily McKay as the headmasters prize for history in December 1913 at the Higher Elementary School Charlton as per the citation on the inside cover.
This copy has significant history and would be prized in any collection.
