Condition

Good antique condition consistent with approximately 140–150 years of age.

The chair is structurally sound and presents well, displaying the character expected of an authentic antique. There is general wear, minor marks and rubbing to the finish from many years of use. The frame has several old, stable repairs, including repairs to the lower joints where the balloon back meets the frame and an old repair to the upper section of the balloon back. These historical repairs are secure, do not detract from the chair’s functionality, and have been reflected in the asking price.

The upholstered seat remains clean and serviceable, and the underside retains an older dust cover.
