About:

Produced by Bendigo Pottery in Epsom, Victoria (Started in 1858 by Scottish Migrant George Duncan Guthrie), this piece reflects the golden era of Australian studio ceramics, where small workshops focused on durability, natural materials, and everyday beauty. It celebrates function, form, and the use of honest materials, and proudly stands alongside Bendigo Pottery's numerous stoneware masterpieces.

Finished in a rich, iron-based glaze with deep chocolate and umber tones, and featuring the distinct Bendigo Pottery Coggle Wheel Texture; this incredibly versatile piece reflects the earthy aesthetic that defined Australian pottery workshops from the 1970s onward, and the form prioritises function and honesty of materials, which is central to studio pottery values. Equally, there is a soft, swirl-based pattern built into the plate and dish, giving it a unique and entrancing look.

The subtle wheel-thrown rings, weighty feel, and domed lid give it both visual warmth and practical presence which could sit comfortably inside any Australian household kitchen. This piece can be used at home as a rustic serving piece or as a sculptural object on open shelving, and is a quietly confident example of handmade Australian design and Bendigo Pottery's dedication to high quality productions.
