About:
This sculptural timber vase was hand-turned in Australia from a reclaimed Yellow Stringybark farm fence post, giving new life to timber once shaped by the land itself.
Made by The Woodheap this piece embraces natural splits, weathering, and grain movement rather than concealing them, and detail the rough, natural formation of the Australian landscape through its shaping and design.
The surface tells a story of rural use, time, and transformation. A beautiful example of sustainable design with genuine Australian character, from a local boutique studio that could stand out in any collection, household or display. This simply is a 'Must Have.'
The tag on the front of the first image states:
Left Side: "Australian Pioneers, with crosscut saws, felled the Red Gum Trees. Snigged with logs out of the bush with Bollock Teams, toiled to hand hew the ancient timber with broad ace and adze into the solid Post and Rail Fencing that has, for over a century, survived drought, fire and floods."
Right Side: "Congratulations, you are now the GUARDIAN of a small piece of Australian Colonial Heritage. 'A COLLECTABLE of the FUTURE from the PAST.'"
