Vintage Bristow No. 2 – Frank Dickens – 1978 Australian Comic Annual

A great piece of late-1970s comic-strip nostalgia, Bristow No. 2 continues the workplace misadventures of Frank Dickens’ wonderfully put-upon office worker and the eccentric inhabitants of Chester-Perry.

Published in Australia by Beaumont Book Company in 1978, this second Bristow annual is packed with Dickens’ distinctive observations of office politics, bureaucracy and everyday working life.

The cover promises “More smirks in the office life of a little fat man with a big thin moustache”, together with pin-ups of Bristow and four of his co-workers.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age and handling wear consistent with a publication approaching 50 years old.

The red cover remains attractive and presents well, with some edge and corner wear, light surface marks and creasing. Internally, the pages show expected age toning but appear clean and very readable from the photographs supplied.
