About:

This charming vintage butter tray cover features a nostalgic “De Olden Days” village scene, complete with a horse-drawn carriage, rustic Tudor-style buildings; Germanic inspired, since the house has a traditional Fachwerk style, and figures dressed in Late Renaissance and Early Baroque clothing, with capes, aprons and wide-brimmed hates. All of it delivering a beautiful, romanticised and picturesque snapshot of the late 1500s to early 1600s.

The warm sepia tones, soft greens, and reds are beautifully offset by a creamy crackle glaze, giving the piece a cosy, old-world kitchen feel. 

Pieces like this were popular mid-century decorative yet functional kitchenware, designed to sit proudly on the benchtop or grace a dining table.
