A fabulous survivor from the golden age of Hollywood glamour and post-war Italian design, this vintage Roma Italian bedspread remains with its original packaging and striking Elizabeth Taylor promotional insert.

The colourful period advertising card features a young Elizabeth Taylor and is printed “ELIZABETH TAYLOR ATTRICE” — Italian for “actress” — alongside the Roma quality name, composition, original size information and “Printed in Italy” markings.

The bedspread itself is finished in a rich gold/mustard colour with an intricate woven geometric and floral design. Its cotton and rayon construction gives the textile an attractive lustre and texture typical of quality decorative bedspreads of the period.

Particularly appealing is the completeness of this example. The bedspread has survived together with its original clear storage case and Elizabeth Taylor advertising card, making it an interesting crossover collectible for lovers of mid-century interiors, vintage Italian textiles and classic Hollywood memorabilia.

The original promotional card also retains a handwritten period retailer notation, adding to the untouched vintage character of the piece.
