A wonderful piece of Australian vintage furniture, this compact writing desk was manufactured by F. Meyer & Co and retains both its maker’s stamp and remnants of its original Furniture Trades Convention of Australia / Australian Furniture Standard label.

At approximately one metre wide, it is a particularly practical size for a study, bedroom, apartment or home office, while still offering excellent storage through its five-drawer configuration.

Traditional dovetailed drawer construction adds to its appeal and reflects the solid furniture-making techniques used in its manufacture.

Importantly, this desk is being offered prior to restoration and in its current as-found condition, providing a great opportunity for a buyer wanting an original vintage Australian piece to restore or sympathetically rejuvenate themselves.
