A striking vintage Gold Pfeil handbag combining traditional German leather craftsmanship with wonderfully distinctive natural steer hide.
The bag has a substantial doctor or Gladstone-style construction, with a rigid framed opening, twin leather-covered handles, protective metal feet and large natural hair-on-hide panels to both sides. Each side has its own unique markings, including an eye-catching section of white hide.
Gold Pfeil was known for quality leather goods, and this is a particularly unusual example of the brand — quite different from the more commonly encountered conventional leather handbags.
With its rich olive-brown leather, natural hide and beautifully aged patina, it has a strong mid-century Western / equestrian character while retaining the quality and structure of a traditional European handbag.

This is an authentic vintage Gold Pfeil steer hide handbag showing genuine age and use.
* Natural hair-on-hide panels remain attractive with strong brown, black and white markings.
* Leather has developed an attractive vintage patina.
* Surface scuffs, scratches, rubbing and general wear are present, particularly around the lower edges and corners.
* Handles show age-related wear but remain attached and present well.
* Original metal frame, clasp and fittings remain present.
* Four protective metal feet remain fitted to the leather base.
* Interior fabric lining shows age, staining/discolouration and wear, including some deterioration around the edges.
