Vintage Hand-Carved Wooden Tintin & Snowy (Milou) Adventurer Sculpture – 37cm

Few comic-book characters have travelled quite as far—or become quite as instantly recognisable—as Tintin and his faithful companion Snowy.

This wonderfully characterful wooden sculpture brings Hergé’s famous young reporter into three dimensions, depicting Tintin in his red spacesuit from Explorers on the Moon dressed alongside Snowy, ready to set off on their next journey.

Standing an impressive 37cm high and weighing approximately 1.6kg, this is no small figurine. Tintin has been individually carved with his unmistakable quiff, red top and green plus-fours, while his backpack, equipment, exaggerated boots and articulated-style limbs give the sculpture wonderful depth and personality.

Beside him stands Snowy—known as Milou in the original French stories—complete with his own travelling packs.

The hand-painted finish has mellowed with age, creating a wonderfully warm, folk-art appearance that suits the character of the piece beautifully.

This is vintage hand carved folk art piece from the 1980s/90s, making it a completely unique alternative to modern plastic or resin figurines.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear.

The sculpture displays surface rubbing, fading, small marks, accumulated patination and general wear consistent with age and previous display. These are particularly evident around the base, clothing and Snowy.

The exposed underside shows the natural timber construction and workshop finishing.

The aged painted surface has deliberately not been heavily cleaned or restored, preserving the character and patina of the piece.
