This charming vintage cream jug features a hand-painted strawberry motif, bursting with colour and character. It features loose, expressive brushwork, with a more free-hand placement of the leaf's & strawberries themselves; showing the black seed and accented detailing; all of it standing out against the creamy white.

The softly flared form, pedestal base, green-coloured rims and expressive brushwork suggest studio pottery rather than mass production. This is further supported by the markings at the bottom of the jug, which reads 'RJ'. 

Pieces like this were often made in small batches, intended for everyday use but elevated through thoughtful design and craftsmanship, and are perfect additions to any cottage kitchen, breakfast table, or vintage tea setting.
