This charming vintage wooden lidded pot is a fine example of New Zealand craftsmanship, handcrafted from native Rimu wood. Featuring a gracefully turned lid with a chess piece-like finial and a deep red felt-lined interior, this piece is both functional and decorative.
The base is clearly marked with:
“Rimu Reworked – Hand Turned – N.Z. – Lathe Art”
indicating it was handcrafted in New Zealand, likely in the 1970s–1980s period during a popular era for artisan woodcraft in the region.
