Mini Story or Hook

A charming original Australian landscape by M. Cromie, depicting the rural countryside around Holesworth, Victoria.

Painted in 1988 this traditional pastoral scene is dominated by a magnificent old gum tree beside a winding creek or waterway. Grazing cattle, rustic fencing, farm buildings and distant hills complete a quintessential Victorian country landscape.

The artwork is signed “M Cromie” at the lower left and is additionally inscribed to the reverse “Holesworth Victoria 1988”, providing a valuable record of both the location depicted and the date of the work.

Presented in an attractive period gold-tone decorative frame, this is an appealing piece of regional Victorian art and would display beautifully in a country, traditional or Australian-themed interior.
