Mini Story or Hook:

A wonderful survivor from the golden age of British children’s publishing, Warne’s “Top-All” Book for Girls brings together a collection of adventure and character stories written for young girls of the interwar period.

Edited by Mary England and published by Frederick Warne & Co., the volume retains its wonderfully evocative illustrated cover depicting three fashionably dressed young women, luggage and a little terrier.

Of particular charm is the original handwritten birthday inscription to “Peggy”, dated May 22nd 1935. As the book itself is undated, this contemporary inscription provides strong evidence that this copy was already in circulation by 1935 — giving it a lovely piece of personal history spanning more than 90 years.
